I have been an apple fanboy for my work since 2017. And like others i have installed many tools (free or not) to try to make my devops day to day work as frictionless as possible. Some are very very useful and i can’t work without them anymore (worth to mention paste that is perfect). But today i want to talk about the best of them, the one that make me love my Macbook Pro and the good news is that it comes pre-installed on any MacOS device :-)
Ok that was kind of click-bate humm … The tool i want to talk about is “Exposé” (love the fact that is a french name too) and fullscreen windows working together. It’s not a tool in fact it’s more a group a features. But think a bit about it, it’s one of the most productive tool i have come to use in my career in IT.
With a window in maximized on the full desktop you can guarantee that your focus is maximal and you won’t let distract by any popup or tray/dock notifications. And exposé allow you to switch easily from one maximized window to another, making you the master of productivity.
For me coming from a long past of both Windows and Linux desktop, it became the perfect balance between focus and task switching that i never found on other OS. SO if you are on MacOS and not using it you should give it a try.
